As you may have heard, 132 new changes will come into effect on the 29th of March, 2021.
It does sound daunting when you hear about it but many of the changes are things that VCAT has enforced for a while, that are just getting formally outlined.
Others do require owners and agents to ensure the rented property is compliant within many areas including Gas, Electrical and Smoke Alarm safety.
Our office is ensuring that our property managers are up to date with all changes to the laws as we implement changes to our procedures and policies going forward.
Throughout this week and into April, we will be emailing all owners with key information that may effect their property.
Our main priority is to ensure all owners are compliant with the many changes that are coming.
An outline on safety check laws have been listed on the consumer affairs website here:

Additionally, many notices have been either changed or removed which we will need to address on a case by case basis when an owner requests us to issue a notice.
