When you are selling your home, first impressions count.

Many home buyers will drive past a property that they are interested in before they even contact the agent to have a look, and sadly, most will judge a book by its cover. This means that your curb appeal needs to be on point. Creating an inviting exterior will get potential buyers through your front door, which is essential because, I mean, how else will you sell your property?

Selling your home can be stressful, especially when you feel you are running out of time. If this feels like you, keep reading because there are many things that can be done to boost the front image of your home, and they don’t take long!

  1. Give your door a make-over.

Your front door is the first thing people see before they step into your home. Even if you are trying to improve your home on a low budget, you create the effect of a brand new front door without actually going the extra mile. It can be as easy as a fresh coat of paint and a new door handle!

  1. Let there be light.

Adding two outdoor wall lanterns to either side of your front door will give your entrance a glow that will highlight your home and its features, not to mention it is a gorgeous statement and the style of 2019. If this isn’t your personal style, adding bright down lights will still give your home a luminous and attractive effect.

  1. Tidy up.

This one’s simple, keep your lawns mowed, clean up any plant debris and don’t have unnecessary objects like trailers or bikes sitting in your front yard. Trimming overgrown bushes and plants and cleaning your gutters are also quick and easy ways to take care of your homes appearance.

  1. Hide eye-sores.

Is there an ugly air conditioning or hot water unit in street view? Make your own planter box from wood you have laying around, or pick up a garden screen from next to nothing at Bunnings, there are many great ways to hide eye-sores. Keep your bins in your garage or backyard because they aren’t pretty either.

  1. Pressure wash your driveway.

If you don’t already have one, you can pick up a pressure washer for around $100 from Bunnings, or simply borrow one from a friend. You will be surprised by the difference it makes and you’ll wish you had done it sooner!

It’s easy to miss details when you’re looking at your own home frontage every day, so don’t forget to ask a friend, neighbour or your real estate agent for a second opinion on anything you may have missed.
