2019 trends that are set to take part in the world of interior design

Floral Patterns;

Floral patterns were the bees knees in the 1990’s, are they making a comeback?

These patterns make me reminisce about laying on the bed in my mum’s room when I was five, peeling off the floral wallpaper that had been covering the walls for as long as I could remember. My brother was moving into that room and he didn’t want to have pink and purple flowers on his walls when he invited his friends over to play PS2. But, in 2019 these floral patterns and designs may be making a comeback and overwhelming the walls in our living rooms. The bright and colourful features will make for an ideal area to have breakfast in bed on a Sunday morning.

Neutral Tones;

Cool and neutral tones have always been popular; opening up a room and presenting it as a modern home of beauty. These tones are a favourite when designing the interior of a home and they’re not expected to become less popular any time soon. Regardless of the floral patterns making a return, our neutral tones will never falter.

Slashbacks;

Let’s talk Splashbacks! A kitchen with a bright or patterned splashback always catches our eyes when walking into a home – not that we want people noticing the food that we forgot to clean up when we cooked dinner last night – but they are a great feature in any décor. Bringing kitchens to life, fun and groovy splashbacks are set to become increasingly popular during the New Year. If you’ve ever thought about getting an exciting splashback, now is the time!

To match our groovy splashbacks, dark countertops are now the IT design. The two combinations of warm countertops and patterned splashbacks, which are quite the opposite in style, will make for a beautiful contrasting interior design in a modern furnished house.

Feature plants;

Not only were they popular then and now, but they will become even more popular during 2019. The idea of feature plants makes for an earthy and beautifully situated home with the interior a focal point. They bring colour to a dull room and bring life to a once lifeless home, admirable by all that step foot into the home. Whether it be flowers or succulents, all plants make for a welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful home.
