A new Melton Hospital would create more than 4000 jobs, and play a significant role in addressing COVID-19-related job losses and an existing jobs shortage in the City of Melton. It’s a compelling case for the timely delivery of a new Melton Hospital, and that’s exactly what economic development body, WoMEDA, has presented in its new report.
We agree with WoMEDA Chair Steve Bracks that the west critically needs more jobs, Melton critically needs better access to health care, and a hospital would address both of these issues.
A Victorian Government business case is exploring what a future hospital could look like and is expected to be complete later this year. Council continues to advocate for funding and for construction to begin by 2022. (*Melton shire Council)
