The Djerriwarrh Festival is held annually in Melton at the Melton Recreation Reserve, to showcase the diversity of our community and to bring together people from all walks of life.
At 11am, there will be a Melton City Much More Street Parade, which will take place along High Street. The parade will be followed by numerous activities such as;
The Emergency Services Information and Display:
The CFA are showing up close real-life demonstrations! The SES and Victorian Police Proactive Units will also be there, to ensure that the event is running smoothly. It’s a great opportunity to go and meet to some local volunteers!
The Market Stall Village:
The Market Village is said to be ‘Super-Sized’, with up to 100 handpicked arts, crafts and other specialty stalls. Be sure to check it out and grab yourself a bargain!
The Pet Expo:
Back by popular demand! The pet expo includes free pony rides and action-packed displays! The expo will also include Dachshund racing – contact events@melton.vic.gov.au if you’re interested in registering for your dog to be in the race!
Kids Zone:
New to the Djerriwarrh Festival is the Kids Zone. This will include ‘Nylon Zoo’, an enchanting story time hub and petting zoo, free of charge! Story time runs between 12pm and 5pm.
Families and Children Marquee:
This area involves many hands on activities for children aged between 0-12 years old.
The Bonfire:
The lighting of the Bonfire will commence at 8:30pm (subject to change due to weather conditions) and the best view will be from the Main Stage!
Intercultural Communities:
The dedicated space showcases traditional dance, food and music, to celebrate the diversty within our community. There will be many different performances on the Intercultural Stage, to engage locals with differing cultures
Get Healthy and Active:
There are numerous activities that have been organised to promote active and healthy lifestyles. If you participate in all activities, you will go into the draw to win prizes! You can register for the event on the day. The event will also provide local clubs with the opportunity to recruit new members and volunteers within the community.
There will also be a Main Stage, which will involve numerous live bands and singers. The lineup consists of Tom Tuena Band, Billy Davis and the Good Lords, The Vanns and Sneaky Sound System! You won’t want to miss out!
Not to mention the awesome assortment of food! Pizza, burgers, sweets, dumplings, barbecues and much more!
