If you are looking at houses for sale, you should know how to inspect one to make sure it is the right fit for you.
How to inspect a property before buying it
Make a list. Write down what are must have features for your next home. This could include a number of parking spaces, heating or solar panels, etc. It’s best to take this list with you when you inspect the home for sale as you may forget what is on your list, plus you can tick them off while you’re there as it can get confusing remembering which property had which features if you’re going to be inspecting a few.
Look for obvious problems or damage. Check for mould in the bathrooms and bedrooms, check for water stains and corrosion. If you’re not sure what to look for when inspecting a property, you could ask for advice from a building inspector.
Ask questions. The selling agent is there to help, it’s their job! So don’t be afraid to ask too many questions. Questions often asked at inspections are;
How old is the property?
Why is the vendor selling?
Are there any known issues with the property?
