t’s sad to say that I didn’t win the $100 million, but I am happy to say that a humble Sydney mother in her 40’s, did. Making Australian lottery history, the Sydney mother took home a whopping individual win of $107,575,649.08. According to Australian lottery provider, The Lott, the woman provided a statement where she at first, thought she’d won $107,000. She then said “I don’t understand — is this actually real?”, when finding out just how much money she had actually won. The woman works in healthcare, and despite winning the enormous figure, she said she “will not be retiring”. The victor said “It will drive me to do more health work for causes important to me”, WOW! The winner is said to be sharing her money amongst her family, and also donating some to charities close to her heart. The previous Australian lottery record was $70 million, won by a couple in Queensland. But this year’s victor, had a single win. Despite our jealousy, this woman’s modest attitude and magnificent values in regards to her gain, makes it a little less hurtful that we didn’t win.
