You may have noticed the loud noises and blocked of roads around central Melton and you may be thinking what in the world is going on!? – Let me tell you it is for a good reason!
Upon the record funding that the City of Melton received from both the State and Australian Governments, a range of fantastic projects are underway and they are all for the better!
The City of Melton received $4.45 million dollars in funding from the Australian Government and a further $3.5 million dollars from the State Government. The council is extremely appreciative and thankful for the funds and I can speak for Melton Residents when I say I’m thankful as well and excited also.
The funds are going to be focused on the development of the Bridge Road Regional Play space which has been designed by the help of local Melton children and The Pride of Melton Project which will focus on giving the central Melton area a face lift if you’d like to call it that!
The fantastic Bridge Road Regional Play Space will be a place to take the kids regularly with equipment such as; flying foxes, slides, swings, trampolines, custom monkey bars and even carved stones within a water play area! There will also be picnic and barbeque areas. This is scheduled for completion by October 2016.
The Pride of Melton Project will make the centre of Melton an even better place to be! With planned improvements to pedestrian crossings and connections, renovation of the amphitheatre, installation on new footpaths, more trees, added street furniture, more public lighting and a new outdoor deck area at the Visitor Information Centre. This is planned for completion around mid-December 2016.
As a Melton resident and someone who is passionate about the property market in Melton, I am excited. These new projects I believe will improve the quality of living and will be appealing to visitors from other areas who may be thinking of buying in Melton.
