Melton is very quickly becoming a place of development and population growth. The reason for this, you ask?
Let me tell you! I will give you both a personal and non-personal wrap on the benefits of living and or buying in Melton.
Growing up in Melton as a child were always positive memories. I went to a primary school that I loved and I participated in many hobbies without even leaving the town. Horse riding at the farm on weekends, swimming during the week, drama/dancing classes, footy and riding my bike to the park were the main activities which I thoroughly enjoyed. Now ten years later, I see just how much more Melton has to offer. I look at my 9 year old sister who has a very busy schedule of soccer, dancing and art classes that are on offer right at her doorstep. There are 3 different parks within a 10 minute maximum walking time frame, local shops within a 400 m radius and the local centre a 5 minute drive away with over 160 restaurants and shops.
Families living in Melton really do have a lot at their door step. I completed my education in the inner city suburbs, before making the move back to Melton and I can safely I don’t miss living there. I’m a bit of a country girl at heart, so being able to live on a farm with work only a ten minute drive away is extremely appealing.
I definitely enjoy keeping fit and active and Melton certainly has lot’s to provide in terms of sporting activities. The gym I go to is so close to home I actually tend to run there quite a lot for a warm up. There are over 5 different and diverse gyms as well to choose from, including one female only gym. Enjoy a dip at during the hot, summer days at the Melton Waves Leisure Centre, which offers both indoor and outdoor pools, a child care centre and gym. Into team sport? Check out the numerous sporting clubs of football, netball, soccer, basketball, tennis and many more.
If Sport isn’t your thing then enjoy the AMAZING new library, which opened in 2013!
Melton is positioned literally in the heart of any weekend outing. Want to take a trip to the beach? Torquay main beach is an hour away. Off to the city? Expect a 40 minute car drive and Ballarat only 45 minutes away.
Not only is Melton in a position perfect for families but it is also affordable! Expect to spend on average around $300,000.00 for a 4 bedroom home. Um… WHAT!!? Yes, that is the average price in Melton for a 4 bedroom home! If you are renting, expect to pay on average $300 p/w for a 4 bedroom property.
In my opinion, Melton is one of Melbourne’s best kept secrets…
Being a typical 22 year old girl, I do enjoy going out with friends and family on the weekend and I don’t have to travel all the way to the city to do this. There are numerous pubs and bars 10 minutes from home. Not to mention the brilliant facility of Tabcorp Park, where you can enjoy not only live racing, but live bands, a meal at the bistro and a drink at the sports bar.
I am soon looking to buy or build and I will be doing this in Melton and I can’t wait to do so!
What are you waiting for? Make the move to Melton!
